In , a few years after the church was abandoned as unsafe, the Glasgow and West of Scotland Family History Society transcribed the monumental inscriptions. Most of the records of the Burying Ground had been destroyed in a vestry fire, but one receipt book survived, allowing a plan of the lairs in the graveyard to be drawn.
